LULLABIES

OF THE

DISPLACED

August 2019

Lullabies take us back to our earliest memories, but they are also associated with traditions and cultural heritage. We can sometimes remember certain lullabies, even if no one ever actually sung them to us because they are tied to our collective memory. But when does anyone ever sing to us as adults?

This one-to-one performance brought together ideas surrounding childhood, nostalgia, home, and belonging. In an attempt to find a connecting thread between our individual experiences, participants are invited to revisit their childhood memories and share their own lullabies.

FROM CARRYING TO CARING

April 2019

A two-on-one performance in which we take one audience member at a time on a journey that allows us to acknowledge our human interdependency and vulnerabilities and come to an empathetic understanding through dialogue. We offer each audience member a space to engage with the theme of care and self-care, and to reflect on everyday challenges and the weight they might carry.

PERFECTLY

FLAWED

January 2019

A ritual in which we care for one another and tend to our scars. We were inspired by Japanese kintsugi, a philosophy and lifelong learning which reconciles us with our fragility; it does not hide mistakes, irregularities, and scars but accepts them as an integral part of the whole, appreciating the past for the purpose of creating a more beautiful and stronger present.
